Since 1994, the city of Bayeux, associated with the Department of Calvados and the Normandy Region, has organized this prize intended to pay tribute to journalists who exercise their profession in perilous conditions to allow us to access free information.
This event linked to French and foreign media, endeavors to offer, for a week, an open window on international news via exhibitions, thematic evenings, screenings, a book fair, a media forum, meetings with schoolchildren,… and of course a closing party which rewards the winners of the different categories of reports (photography, television, radio, written press…).In perpetual evolution, the Prix Bayeux Calvados-Normandie remains above all a meeting for the general public in the heart of Bayeux.
The Bayeux Calvados-Normandy Prize for war correspondents rewards a report on a conflict situation or its consequences for civilian populations, or on a current event concerning the defense of freedoms and democracy.
The report must have been produced between June 1 , 2022 and May 31, 2023 . A prize of €7,000 is awarded in each category.
