Exposure+ Photo, a photography festival aimed at showcasing cutting-edge photography and video to audiences in Malaysia and beyond, is set to take place in the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur in September 2023. The festival invites photographers worldwide to submit works inspired by stories, memories, and lived experiences related to the 2023 theme, "A Different Light," with selected projects featured at various partner locations throughout Kuala Lumpur. The festival's theme encourages artists to explore new approaches, formats, and narratives when retelling their stories, whether it's a childhood memory or a chance encounter with a stranger. The festival welcomes all genres, including documentary, conceptual, experimental, or fine art, and will showcase 20 artists selected by a panel of seasoned professionals. For the first time, international artists can also apply to participate. The festival aims to unleash the power of imagination and photography as storytelling tools, free from the constraints of rules, restrictions, or conventions.
