Photography has the power to freeze time, tell stories, and connect worlds. The Xposure International Photography Awards embody that belief, offering a respected global stage for photographers to present their vision, skill, and voice. Whether it’s a fleeting moment captured on the street or a meticulously composed architectural shot, this competition is open to all creators, at any level, from anywhere on Earth.

Hosted by Xposure, the acclaimed photography festival in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, the awards are not only completely free to enter, but they also celebrate diversity across visual forms. Categories span the traditional and the innovative, including Portraiture, Landscape, Architecture, Street, Sport, Night, and Mobile Photography, as well as AI-generated images and Photo Manipulation—recognizing the emerging intersections between technology and creativity. A dedicated Junior category opens the doors to young talents ready to make their mark.

Each category crowns a winner and a runner-up, along with five shortlisted nominees. From among them, one image-maker is elevated to the title of Xposure International Photographer of the Year—a recognition that can truly redefine a career.

But this competition offers more than prestige. All selected photographers are given the rare opportunity to exhibit at the next edition of the Xposure Festival, with travel and accommodation provided. Their work is placed in front of a live audience that includes editors, curators, collectors, and cultural influencers, providing unparalleled visibility and connection.

A rigorous two-stage judging process ensures the highest standards. First, judges assess storytelling power and artistic merit. Then they evaluate technique, execution, and thematic relevance. Only original work is allowed—this is a celebration of authentic, personal expression.
