Open to photographers worldwide—regardless of experience, origin, or artistic style—the World Water Day Photo Contest is an event that honors creativity while promoting values of mutual respect, tolerance, and compassion toward both the environment and humankind. Created in 2017 by the Seregno AID Lions Club as a cultural and charitable project, the contest has sought from the beginning to use art as a bridge between awareness and action, inviting people to reflect on the critical role of water in our lives.

Throughout its still-emerging history, the competition has gathered unforgettable images of exceptional visual and emotional intensity. Many submissions boldly reveal the environmental challenges and human vulnerabilities linked to water scarcity, pollution, and climate change. Conversely, other photographs highlight water as a source of purity, resilience, and renewal, celebrating its beauty and its vital significance for all forms of life.
