The Women Street Photographers Artist Residency is now accepting submissions for its 2026 program in New York City, which will take place from March 29 to April 13. The deadline to apply is July 7, 2025. This is a juried open call, and each entry requires a $50 fee per photo series. A series must consist of up to 10 cohesive street photography images. Applicants may submit up to three series, with each submitted separately and paid for individually.

The selection process weighs both visual and written components equally, so the artist statement carries 50% of the total score. This statement should be written in the first person and clearly explain the concept behind the project, the personal significance of winning the residency, and why the artist believes they are the right fit for the opportunity.

All photos must follow specific technical and content guidelines: images must form a consistent street photography series taken in public spaces, using any camera or phone. AI-generated images, composites, watermarks, borders, or explicit or violent content are not allowed. Each image must be in JPG or JPEG format, resized to 1200 pixels on the longest side, and under 1MB in size. File names should include your full name and a number (e.g., gulnara_lyabib01.jpg).

To submit, place the 10 images into a folder titled with your full name, compress it into a single ZIP file (under 20MB), and include a PDF document with your artist statement and third-person bio. Submission does not guarantee selection, but shortlisted artists will be featured on WSP’s website and social media. Entry fees are non-refundable and help support the residency.
