Water surrounds us and sustains us, flowing through our lives in ways both visible and subtle. It shapes the land beneath our feet, catches and reflects light in ever-changing patterns, and carries a sense of movement, memory, and emotional depth. Sometimes it appears calm and quiet; at other times it feels powerful, energetic, and transformative.
We encounter water in countless forms—from vast oceans and meandering rivers to falling rain, melting ice, morning fog, shimmering reflections, and even abstract impressions that hint at its presence.
For this exhibition, we invite photographers to share their personal vision of water in all its diversity. We are interested in work that explores how water can be seen, experienced, interpreted, and imagined.
Submissions can be literal or symbolic, realistic or abstract, tranquil or dynamic. We encourage artists to express their unique perspective, whether focusing on environmental storytelling, visual experimentation, conceptual ideas, or emotional responses.
All photographic styles are welcome, including landscape photography, documentary work, conceptual projects, and experimental techniques.
We are delighted to have Lee Anne White serve as juror for Water: Element of Change. She will select up to 35 photographs to be exhibited in our gallery in Middlebury, Vermont, along with 40 additional images to be showcased in our Online Gallery.
All selected works—up to 75 images—will be included in the exhibition catalog, permanently featured on our website, and promoted across our social media platforms with links to each photographer’s website.
