Vital Impacts is proud to continue our support of photographers who are committed to telling critical environmental stories with a local focus. We recognize the power of imagery to inspire action and highlight solutions to environmental challenges—and we are here to help storytellers do exactly that.
In our latest grant cycle, we are offering a total of seven grants to support impactful environmental photo projects. This includes one (1) grant of $20,000 and six (6) grants of $5,000. These funds are intended to support photographers in covering the necessary expenses to bring their visual storytelling projects to life, including travel, equipment, research, and post-production costs.
Selected grant recipients will have twelve months to complete their projects. During this time, Vital Impacts will work closely with each photographer, providing opportunities for project support, publishing guidance, and promotional visibility to help ensure their stories reach wide and relevant audiences.
Beyond the financial grants, we are also launching a mentorship program aimed at fostering new talent. Ten (10) emerging photographers will be chosen to participate in a dedicated, structured mentorship experience. This program is designed to provide personalized feedback, career development resources, and networking opportunities that will support each participant’s professional growth.
We are also committed to offering value to everyone who applies. Therefore, all applicants will gain access to our online mentorship series—a robust, educational platform filled with insights from leading professionals in the field. This initiative is open to anyone interested in refining their storytelling skills and deepening their knowledge of environmental photography.
If you’re passionate about the planet and have a story to tell, we encourage you to apply and join a growing global community of storytellers working to create a more sustainable future.
