Embracing Powerlessness: Sometimes, taking a step backwards or aside is necessary when confronting the unknown, something overwhelming, or simply too much to handle. It's a defense mechanism, a recognition of vulnerability, and an acceptance that failure is part of the journey. It stands in opposition to careerism, presumption, conflict, instinct, and rivalry. It's about breaking down substance to pave the way for something new. This concept of power-lessness is crucial, ensuring that action diverges from expected answers.

Curated by Simone Azzoni and Francesca Marra, creators and directors of Grenze, the following artists have been personally selected for the Main Section of the Festival:

  • WIM WENDERS presents a selection from "Early Works: 1964 - 1984," curated by Simone Azzoni.

  • FRANCESCA DUSINI showcases "Švejk," curated by Francesca Marra.

  • ULRIKE KOEB brings "REDUCE REUSE RETHINK," curated by Simone Azzoni.

  • MARTINA HAVLOVÁ presents "tajina," curated by Simone Azzoni and Francesca Marra.

  • ROLANDO CABRERA offers a selection from "Modus vivendi" and "No man's land," curated by Alain Cabrera and Giovanni Monzón.

  • SERENA RADICIOLI displays "You never came back," recipient of the Musa Prize curated by MUSA Photography.

  • ANTONIO ROVALDI showcases "Torno indietro un attimo. Along a river," an award-winning project from Strategy Photography 2023, supported by the Ministry of Culture. Participating partners include Foto-Forum, Lungomare, Museion, NICHE, and Grenze-Arsenali Fotografici.

The exhibition venues will include Il Meccanico, Isolo17 Gallery, and Bastion delle Maddalene. Additionally, six other projects will be selected by the jury appointed for the initial call of the Main Section.
