The International Photographic Competition “H2Or – The Nature of Water” is a creative and environmental initiative that has been thoughtfully conceived, organized, and promoted by the Biosphere Reserves of Po Delta, Po Grande, and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. This competition aligns with the objectives of UNESCO’s MAB (Man and the Biosphere) Program, a global recognition aimed at improving the balance between human activities and nature while striving to mitigate the loss of biodiversity—both in cultural and biological terms. This year’s competition focuses entirely on water, a vital element for all living beings and ecosystems. The goal is to encourage photographers to capture the beauty, power, and significance of water in all its forms, from rivers and lakes to rain and oceans. By sharing their unique perspectives through photography, participants will help spread awareness about the indispensable value of water and reinforce the mission of Biosphere Reserves across the world, which are dedicated to the sustainable management and preservation of natural resources.
