The International Photographic Competition “H2Or – The Nature of Water” is an initiative developed, organized, and promoted by the Biosphere Reserves of Po Delta, Po Grande, and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. This competition aligns with the goals of UNESCO’s MAB (Man and the Biosphere) Program, which was established to foster a sustainable relationship between humans and their natural surroundings while actively working to prevent the decline of biological and cultural diversity. For this year’s edition, the competition highlights the theme of water, recognizing its immense importance in sustaining both human and natural ecosystems. The objective is to use the power of photography to inspire greater awareness and understanding of water’s essential role in life, its beauty, and the necessity of its conservation. Through this artistic initiative, the competition also aims to reinforce the mission of Biosphere Reserves worldwide, emphasizing their commitment to environmental education, protection, and sustainable development.
