The International Photographic Competition titled “H2Or – The Nature of Water” is a prestigious event designed, organized, and actively promoted by the Biosphere Reserves of Po Delta, Po Grande, and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. These reserves are part of the MAB (Man and the Biosphere) Program, an important global initiative launched by UNESCO to enhance the relationship between humans and the natural world while striving to combat the loss of both biological and cultural diversity. This year, the competition places a strong emphasis on the theme of water, aiming to showcase its fundamental role in ecosystems, communities, and biodiversity. By encouraging photographers from around the world to capture images that reflect the essence and significance of water, the competition seeks to raise awareness about its crucial value and the mission of Biosphere Reserves globally. Through visual storytelling, participants will contribute to a deeper appreciation of water’s importance in sustaining life and preserving environmental balance.
