The Travel Tales Award is a prestigious international photography competition dedicated to showcasing outstanding travel imagery and visual storytelling. Open to photographers of all levels, from passionate amateurs to seasoned professionals, the award offers a global stage for creators to present photographic projects that explore the richness of travel, culture, and human experience.
Entrants are encouraged to submit cohesive bodies of work, including portfolios, photo essays, and narrative series that reflect diverse interpretations of travel. Projects may document cultural traditions, social issues, environmental landscapes, personal journeys, or unique encounters across the world. Rather than focusing on individual images, the competition emphasizes storytelling through carefully curated collections that express a clear vision and meaningful narrative.
An international jury composed of photography experts, curators, and industry professionals reviews all submissions. Projects are evaluated on criteria such as artistic quality, originality, narrative strength, technical excellence, and emotional impact. Particular value is placed on works that provide insightful perspectives, engage audiences, and communicate compelling stories about places, people, and experiences.
Each year, approximately fifty projects are selected as finalists from a diverse pool of international entries. Finalists benefit from increased exposure within the photographic community and may gain access to exhibitions, publications, portfolio review opportunities, and collaborative projects. Through these initiatives, the Travel Tales Award seeks to encourage both emerging and established photographers while promoting powerful visual narratives that deepen our understanding of the world and inspire exploration.
