The Travel Tales Award is an internationally recognized photography competition devoted to celebrating the art of travel photography and the power of visual storytelling. Designed for both amateur and professional photographers, the award provides a platform for artists from around the world to share compelling photographic projects that capture the many dimensions of travel and human experience.
Participants are invited to submit portfolios, photo essays, or cohesive visual narratives that explore travel from a wide range of perspectives. Projects may take the form of documentary stories that reveal cultural, social, or environmental realities; personal travel diaries that reflect individual experiences and encounters; or thematic series that investigate a specific subject, place, or idea through photography. The competition encourages photographers to move beyond single images and present bodies of work that communicate a deeper narrative and a distinctive creative vision.
Submissions are assessed by a panel of photography professionals and industry experts, who evaluate each project according to its visual impact, narrative coherence, originality, technical quality, and depth of insight. Particular attention is given to the ability of the work to engage viewers, convey meaningful stories, and offer unique perspectives on places, people, and journeys.
Each edition of the award selects approximately fifty finalist projects from among the international submissions. Finalists gain valuable visibility within the photography community and may be offered opportunities to participate in exhibitions, feature publications, portfolio reviews, and collaborative initiatives. Through these opportunities, the Travel Tales Award aims to support emerging and established photographers alike, fostering the creation and dissemination of powerful visual stories that inspire curiosity, understanding, and a deeper appreciation of the world.
