TLOUPAS PATH – Photography Award of Thessaly's Heritage is an international photography competition and festival based in Larissa, Greece, created to honour the enduring legacy of the renowned Greek photographer Takis Tloupas. Rooted in the rich cultural heritage of Thessaly, the initiative brings together photographers from around the world to explore the relationship between people, places and the environments they inhabit. Through photography, the competition seeks to document the landscapes, communities, traditions and everyday moments that contribute to the identity and character of a place.

The theme of this edition is “Renaissance”, inviting photographers to reflect on ideas of renewal, transformation and new beginnings. In a period marked by social, environmental and cultural challenges, the competition looks for photographs that convey transition, resilience and hope. Participants are encouraged to explore the ways in which a new perspective can emerge from difficult circumstances and to capture those moments when life, places or communities begin to rebuild and redefine themselves. Inspired by Takis Tloupas's humanist approach to photography, the competition invites artists to look closely at whatever continues to be reborn: landscapes recovering, traditions being rediscovered, communities adapting and everyday life gradually starting anew.

TLOUPAS PATH is open to both professional and amateur photographers from around the world who are at least 18 years old. Each participant may submit between three and five photographs. All submitted images must be the entrant's original work and must be provided in JPEG or JPG format, preferably using the sRGB colour profile. The long side of each photograph must measure at least 1920 pixels, while the maximum file size is 5 MB.

Basic photographic adjustments, including brightness, contrast and cropping, are permitted. However, the addition or removal of visual elements is not allowed, and images created or generated using Artificial Intelligence tools are excluded from the competition. To ensure a fair, impartial and anonymous judging process, submitted photographs must not contain watermarks, signatures or logos.

Organised under the auspices of the Region of Thessaly and co-financed by the European Union, TLOUPAS PATH aims to establish a lasting international platform dedicated to photography, cultural heritage and the diverse stories of places and communities. Through this initiative, the organisers seek to connect contemporary photographic practice with Thessaly's cultural legacy while creating opportunities for photographers from around the world to contribute to an ongoing visual dialogue about heritage, change and renewal.
