Established in 2022, the Prize is a key initiative of the V&A’s Parasol Foundation Women in Photography curatorial program. This program is dedicated to elevating women’s contributions to the field of contemporary photography, celebrating their creative practices, and showcasing the pivotal roles women have played throughout the medium’s rich history. By shining a light on their achievements, the initiative seeks to foster greater recognition and lasting support for women photographers.

The Prize is brought to life in collaboration with Peckham 24, a dynamic photography festival based in South London that champions innovative and emerging voices in the art form. This endeavor is made possible through the generous support of Ms. Ruth Monicka Parasol and The Parasol Foundation Trust.
