The Sonntag Grant for Photography launches its first-ever open call, offering a grant of €3,000 to support a project created by a FLINTA artist—female, lesbian, inter, non-binary, trans, or agender. This inaugural award seeks not only to provide resources but also to affirm the essential role of diverse identities and perspectives in shaping the visual landscape of our time.
The theme is intentionally open, allowing artists the freedom to define their own direction and to share the projects that feel most urgent, meaningful, or experimental to them. There are no boundaries on style or approach. Submissions may be rooted in documentary practice, crafted through staging and performance, or situated in the experimental realm between photography, art, and research. Both ongoing bodies of work and new projects are warmly encouraged, recognizing that artistic processes unfold in many ways and across different timelines.
Through this initiative, Sonntag affirms that photography remains a space of boundless possibility: a medium where memory, imagination, and reality intertwine. By supporting one artist in this first edition, the grant hopes to contribute to broader visibility, dialogue, and recognition for FLINTA voices in the international photography community.
