The prestigious Meitar Award for Excellence in Photography, now entering its ninth year, represents a meaningful collaboration between PHOTO IS:RAEL and the Zvi and Ofra Meitar Family Fund. This distinguished award honors a photographer whose body of work reflects outstanding achievement and creative vision in the field of photography. Each year, an esteemed panel composed of leading international experts in photography, art, and visual culture is tasked with reviewing submissions from shortlisted candidates. In order to ensure fairness and impartiality, the review process is conducted anonymously. The jury will ultimately select a recipient whose work demonstrates exceptional thoughtfulness, technical and conceptual quality, originality, and the capacity to produce a significant, cohesive body of work. The chosen photographer will also be considered for a solo exhibition, highlighting their unique voice and contribution to contemporary photography.
