The Meitar Award for Excellence in Photography, a collaboration between PHOTO IS:RAEL and the Zvi and Ofra Meitar Family Fund, will be awarded for the ninth time this year to a photographer whose works demonstrate excellence in the field of photography.
A professional panel of judges will review all award finalists and will select a photographer who demonstrates thought, quality, originality and excellence in photography, as well as the potential to create a comprehensive body of work suitable for a solo exhibition. The submitted portfolios will be delivered to the panel anonymously, with no identifying markers, and will be judged based on their excellency, quality and originality.
Of the works submitted, the jury will select 20 finalists for a group exhibition that will be exhibited at the 2023 International Photography Festival, and at the 2024 Jinan International Photography Biennial in China.
The winner will be announced in November 2023, during the 11th International Photography Festival. The award winner will receive a $14,000 grant, composed of a personal grant of $2,500, curatorial guidance, and the production of a solo exhibition that will be part of the 2024 International Photography Festival.
