An ambitious photography project is supported by the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson's HCB Award, which is given out every two years.

An exhibition and a project publication accompany the 35,000 euros awarded by the HCB Award.

It is designed for a documentary-style photographer who already has a significant body of work completed. A professional in the photography field—a gallery, museum, publisher, media, independent curator, etc.—must back the candidate.

All applications are reviewed by a pre-selection committee. During the final discussion, all dossiers are accessible to the jury members. An international jury of seven well-known figures in the art world chooses the winner. Each member of the jury has one voice. The jury's decision is still unquestionable.

The grant-funded winner's art project will be shown at the Fondation HCB and published as a book in the spring of 2025.
