The term Pharmacopeia stirs questions: What visions surface when you hear it? Do you imagine a record of substances, each tied to lived experiences of addiction, recovery, or relapse? Does it summon the image of a mind overwhelmed—a fractured panopticon filled with disorder, fear, or longing? Or perhaps it leads you to consider how states of intoxication or sobriety have influenced your creative process, whether deliberately embraced or stumbled into by chance.
With these ideas in mind, we present Pharmacopoeia, an international open call open to photographers aged 18 and over. Artists are encouraged to submit two-dimensional works in any photographic form, spanning from classic to unconventional, analog to digital. All processes are welcome, whether rooted in tradition or experimentation, so long as the work originates from a photographic base and engages with the themes in uniquely personal ways.
