Mark Rothko once remarked, “If you are only moved by color relationships, you are missing the point. I am interested in expressing the big emotions — tragedy, ecstasy, doom, and so on.” In this spirit, The Power of Color invites artists to explore the emotional resonance of color beyond its aesthetic value. Color does not simply decorate an image—it drives it, evoking deep feelings and unspoken narratives. It is a physical presence and a symbolic force, guiding viewers toward deeper understanding and visceral experience.

The Power of Color is an international open call for photographers aged 18 and older. We are seeking work that uses color meaningfully — whether through bold saturation, delicate tonal shifts, or experimental chromatic approaches. All two-dimensional photographic media are eligible, including both traditional and non-traditional methods. Submissions may be analog, digital, or a blend of both, as long as the work is grounded in photography. We encourage artists to push the boundaries of how color can be used to tell stories, stir emotion, and challenge perception.
