The Chateau Gallery - Call For Entry: The Monochromatic Image

Monochromatic is a thought-provoking exhibition that delves into the role of color—or the deliberate limitation of it—in the photographic arts. While monochrome is often equated with black-and-white or grayscale imagery, the concept extends to the intricate interplay of tones, tints, and shades within a single color palette. The exhibition celebrates this nuanced use of color through a variety of photographic approaches, including historical techniques like cyanotypes, sepia, infrared photography, and tintypes, alongside the timeless art of analog film and the precision of modern digital editing. What does monochromatic mean to you as an artist?

This open call is an international invitation for photographers aged 18 and above to share their interpretations of monochromatic imagery. Submissions are welcomed in any two-dimensional photographic format, whether created through conventional methods or unconventional, experimental approaches. The call emphasizes creativity, encouraging both analog and digital artists to push the boundaries of traditional photography in their work.
