The Chateau Gallery - Call For Entry: The Monochromatic Image

Monochromatic is an engaging exhibition dedicated to exploring the significance of color in the art of photography. Traditionally, the term "monochrome" brings to mind images in black and white or grayscale, yet it encompasses much more. A monochromatic color scheme refers to the use of varied tones, tints, and shades derived from a single hue, creating a harmonious visual balance. This open call invites photographers to explore this theme using diverse media, including early photographic techniques like cyanotype, analog film, infrared imaging, sepia-toned prints, and tintypes. Contemporary methods, such as traditional black-and-white photography and advanced digital post-production, are equally welcomed. How do you interpret the idea of monochromatic?

Monochromatic is a global call to action for photographers aged 18 and over, inviting submissions in all forms of two-dimensional photographic imagery. Both conventional and non-conventional techniques, as well as alternative and experimental processes, are encouraged, as long as they are rooted in a photographic medium—be it analog, digital, or a creative combination of both.
