Pharmacopeia. A word. A system. A world. What does it mean to you? Do you see a clinical list of compounds—or a diary of desire and damage? Does it call forth a personal narrative, a journey through substance use, misuse, and the never-linear path of recovery? Or does it open a window into a deeper, psychological terrain—an internal theater where addiction, compulsion, experimentation, and altered states collide in a storm of confusion and clarity? Have you used drugs as a muse, as an escape, as a ritual in your creative process—or was the act of creation itself a kind of chemical reaction?

This is Pharmacopoeia—an open call for photographic artists over 18, anywhere in the world. We are seeking work that challenges and reimagines the relationship between mind and material, body and chemical, artist and medium. Submit your vision in any form of two-dimensional image-making: analog or digital, manipulated or straight, conventional or wildly experimental. We are especially interested in work that emerges from the personal and the psychological, filtered through the lens of photographic thinking—however you choose to define it.
