Dreams have long served as portals into the depths of the unconscious mind, offering fleeting but powerful glimpses into the parts of ourselves we often ignore or suppress. The surreal images that drift through our sleep may at first appear chaotic or illogical, yet these symbolic visions often speak a language all their own. By interpreting our dreams, we uncover the latent content beneath the surface—clues to our deepest thoughts, repressed emotions, and hidden motivations. These are the psychic truths we veil in waking life, shielding ourselves from desires and instincts too raw or uncomfortable to fully face.

To dream is to enter a space where meaning is fragmented and yet profoundly coherent in its own way—a mirror held up to the subconscious. As you drift into slumber and the conscious mind loosens its grip, what truths begin to shimmer in the corners of your vision? What strange landscapes or symbolic figures emerge to confront you? And when you awake, do you find yourself questioning: Was that real? Am I still dreaming?

Lucid — In Dreams invites photographers from around the world, aged 18 and older, to explore these inner dimensions through visual storytelling. This international open call welcomes a wide range of two-dimensional photographic expressions—whether traditional or experimental, analog or digital, conventional or alternative. Submissions may take any form, so long as they are grounded in the medium of photography and shaped by a personal, subjective vision. We seek work that channels the dream state, capturing the ambiguous terrain between consciousness and reverie.
