Is “contemporary art” still contemporary—or are we already stepping into something new?

The balance of power in the art market is shifting. For the first time in decades, artists themselves are reclaiming center stage, using digital platforms and social networks to showcase and sell their work directly. A wave of new talent is rising, reshaping the cultural landscape.

To guide us through these questions, we turn to one of the world’s foremost experts: Dr Jean Wainwright. Historian, curator, critic, broadcaster—her work spans thousands of artist interviews, landmark exhibitions, and acclaimed scholarship on Andy Warhol. Her insights will frame our exhibition in a special talk on 10 October.

From consulting on the BBC’s Andy Warhol’s America to curating Andy Warhol: My True Story, Wainwright’s projects are internationally recognised for their depth and vision. A Professor Emerita at the University for the Creative Arts, she has not only documented but actively shaped conversations around art and culture.
