What’s next for contemporary art? Has it outgrown its own name, or are we on the brink of a new artistic era?
The art world is changing fast. Thanks to social networks, artists are reclaiming power—sharing, selling, and connecting directly with audiences in ways unimaginable just a decade ago. The result? A surge of fresh voices making themselves heard.
But how will this new energy sit alongside established traditions? Which movements will thrive, and which will fade away? While no one has the full answer, Dr Jean Wainwright comes closer than most. With decades of experience, thousands of artist interviews, and a reputation as one of the world’s leading Warhol experts, she offers a unique vantage point.
On 10 October, Dr Wainwright will set the stage for our opening event with a talk exploring the exhibition’s central theme.
A true authority, she has published extensively, curated major shows like Andy Warhol: My True Story (2025), and contributed her expertise to the BBC’s Andy Warhol’s America (2022). Her interviews, many archived at Tate, are considered one of the richest oral history collections in the field. Beyond celebrating iconic figures, she’s also a tireless advocate for emerging artists, ensuring the conversation around contemporary practice stays inclusive and forward-looking.
New Voices embodies this vision. It’s a platform where artists across generations and disciplines come together, blending heritage with innovation to reimagine the future of art.
Our gallery sits in the heart of London’s Tower Bridge district, just steps away from London Bridge, The Shard, and the Tower of London. With millions of visitors flowing through Tooley Street each month, it’s a space alive with energy—a fitting home for an exhibition that’s all about what comes next.
