The AS International Film Photography Awards celebrates the timeless beauty, creativity, and craftsmanship of analog photography through an international competition held twice a year. Open to professionals, emerging photographers, enthusiastic amateurs, and students worldwide, the awards provide a platform for artists who continue to embrace the unique qualities of film and traditional photographic techniques.

Whether you work with classic black-and-white film, vibrant color negatives or slides, instant film, wet plate collodion, or experimental alternative processes, your work is welcome. The competition honors photographers who appreciate the distinctive textures, tones, and character that only analog photography can offer while encouraging creative exploration across a wide range of film-based methods.

Recognizing that contemporary artists often combine traditional and modern techniques, the competition also accepts hybrid works in which analog photographs are thoughtfully enhanced using digital tools. This approach allows photographers to preserve the authenticity of film while expanding their creative possibilities through digital post-processing.

To maintain the competition's focus on analog photography, entries produced entirely with digital cameras or created exclusively through digital processes are not eligible. Every submitted work must originate from an authentic analog photographic process.
