The judging panel for the 2025 Awards is an exceptional assembly of creative visionaries, each at the pinnacle of their respective fields. This year’s panel is led by none other than Rankin—renowned British photographer, filmmaker, and publisher, as well as co-founder of the MPA—whose influential career has shaped visual culture for decades.

Joining Rankin is an all-star lineup that spans the worlds of music, photography, and entertainment. Among the distinguished guest judges is Nile Rodgers, legendary producer, songwriter, and musical icon whose impact on the industry is immeasurable. Also on the panel is Joe Keery—known both for his role as an actor and his musical persona Djo—alongside Eric Burton, the dynamic frontman of the acclaimed band Black Pumas, and the internationally celebrated producer and DJ Dimitri From Paris. Adding a bold voice from the indie music scene is Julia Cumming, lead singer of Sunflower Bean.

The photographic voices on the judging panel are equally impressive. Scarlet Page, acclaimed British photographer and daughter of rock royalty; Tom Pallant, a two-time MPA winner; and Bolade Banjo, a previous MPA nominee, bring both expertise and fresh perspectives. They are joined by celebrated photographer Shot by Nee, the legendary Janette Beckman—whose iconic portraits have defined eras—and category judge Simon Wheatley, whose documentary photography continues to influence the genre.

Together, this powerhouse panel brings a unique and diverse lens to the 2025 judging process, promising bold, thoughtful, and exciting selections.
