The STERN-Preis 2025 – Photo Story of the Year honors an exceptional photo series showcasing photojournalistic excellence, published in a German-language journalistic medium (such as a newspaper, magazine, or website) during 2024.

The series should expertly capture a major event of 2024, explore globally relevant issues, or highlight key aspects of social life. It must exhibit both strong journalistic insight and exceptional visual storytelling.

Submissions must consist of at least five images from a published photo story in a magazine, daily or weekly newspaper, or website. Single images will not be considered.

The award emphasizes journalistic narrative and the creative portrayal of important topics. The STERN-Preis celebrates the dedication and craft of professional photographers who bring compelling stories to life through their work.

International photographers are encouraged to apply, provided their work was published in a German-language journalistic medium in 2024.
