The STERN-Preis 2025 – Photo Story of the Year will be awarded to an outstanding photo series published in 2024 within a German-language journalistic medium such as a newspaper, magazine, or website.

This series should effectively portray a significant event of 2024, focus on issues of global or societal importance, or delve into a meaningful aspect of social life. It must combine journalistic depth with visually striking imagery.

Eligible submissions must include at least five images from a published photo story; single images will not be accepted. Entries may come from magazines, daily newspapers, weekly newspapers, or websites.

The award values strong narrative storytelling and the thorough exploration of socially relevant themes. The STERN-Preis honors professional photographers for their exceptional ability to convey powerful stories through photography.

Submissions are open to international photographers, but entries must have been published in a German-language journalistic medium during 2024.
