Sony Alpha Female Award

The Alpha Female Award is designed to recognize and empower women photographers across the globe.

  • Open to all female photographers entering the Open competition.

  • Highlights and rewards a carefully selected shortlist of photographers.

  • The first-place winner will receive Sony digital imaging equipment and be featured in both the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition and accompanying book.

  • The deadline for submissions is 3 January 2025 at 13.00 GMT.

This award aims to provide women photographers with a prominent platform that promotes their work on an international stage. It also seeks to foster a photography industry where both genders can excel equally. The award originates from Sony US's Alpha Female initiative, which aims to offer opportunities to professional creatives in photography, videography, and filmmaking. Through collaboration with the World Photography Organisation, the initiative now extends to a global audience, supporting female photographers in the Sony World Photography Awards Open competition.
