Launched in 2012, Shoot The Frame evolved into a global suite of photography contests celebrating exceptional portrait, landscape and wildlife photography. In 2025, we’re pausing the monthly contests and launching the inaugural Shoot The Frame Portrait Award.

The story behind Shoot The Frame

It all began in 2012 with a single focus — portrait photography. Over time, the collection expanded to celebrate landscapes and wildlife, growing into a global platform recognizing powerful photography across genres. For 13 years, our monthly contests showcased striking portraits, dramatic landscapes, and rare moments in the wild — celebrating thousands of photographers around the world. Now, the monthly rhythm is on pause. In its place comes a new annual award, honoring the craft of the portrait and the photographers who bring it to life.

Honouring the strength of a single photographic portrait — you may submit as many photos as you like, but each will be judged on its own individual merit.

Photo Essay

A curated series of up to 15 portraits that connect as a complete body of work. Visual stories told through tone, subject, or theme — judged as one unified entry.
