What does it mean to see clearly in a world where the view is constantly shifting? Reframing Realities is a thematic exploration of Europe in motion—its landscapes, people, identities, and ideas caught in a moment of transformation. From lively local communities rooted in tradition to emerging voices navigating fluid identities in the digital realm, this year’s theme turns the lens on how reality itself is shaped, fragmented, and reimagined.
As Europe stands at a crossroads—confronting war at its borders, rising populism, climate degradation, and mass migration—photographers offer powerful visual commentaries that reflect, distort, or altogether reinvent what we consider to be "real." Their images hover between documentation and artistic invention, questioning the trustworthiness of what we see and the systems that define it.
In this landscape of endless retouching, curated personas, and vanishing ecosystems, Reframing Realities asks not only where the lines are drawn—but who holds the pen. Who controls the narrative of modern Europe? And how can photography reassert its place as both witness and provocateur in the reshaping of our collective story?
