In 2026, our main exhibition will once again unfold within the remarkable historic spaces of the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, a venue whose architectural presence and cultural significance continue to shape the identity of the festival itself. Spanning more than 1300 square meters, the exhibition will serve as the central opening platform for the 20 selected winners of the Open Call 2026, presenting a diverse range of contemporary positions in analog photography from emerging and established artists alike.

This year’s festival theme, Anthropocene: Hybrid Realities, invites participants to reflect on the increasingly unstable relationship between humanity, technology, ecology, and representation. Submissions are expected to engage with the theme, whether directly or through more subtle conceptual, material, or poetic associations.
