From AI tools helping students learn local languages in Mali to DIY e-bike batteries being assembled in Indonesian homes, and young creators sharing migration stories on YouTube, technology is making an impact everywhere. At Rest of World, we want to capture all these remarkable ways technology is shaping communities and lives around the globe.
Our annual Photography Contest has returned! This year, we're looking for images that reveal how tech is affecting your life and surroundings. Each entry should include a detailed description with where and when the photo was taken, and what it depicts to give us the full context of its impact on your community.
The contest is open to photographers of all levels from anywhere in the world. Participants can submit one photo taken within the last two years, with entries accepted until midnight GMT on November 30, 2024. We’ll select 10 finalists to feature on our website, with the top three winning cash prizes: $1,000 for first place, $750 for second, and $500 for third.
