Photographers and visual artists, this is your moment to make your vision heard. The 2025 international call for entries is now open, with the theme:“The Illusion of Knowledge: The Photographic Image Between Freedom and Control.”
This year, we’re delving into the layered role of photography in today’s society. Whether used to uphold systems of power, gain consent, or resist oppression, the photographic image is a force capable of shaping how we see—and what we believe. We invite you to examine this tension, and to bring forward the stories that lie behind the frame.
The competition welcomes artists aged 18 and older, with two distinct entry categories:
The Student Category, for current students and recent graduates (within one year) of academic or art programs.
The Open Category, for all other artists and photographers.
Winners will receive:
€3,000 for the Open Category winner
€500 for the Student Category winner
But the rewards don’t end there: finalists and winners in both categories (five per group) will have their work featured in a group exhibition in Castelfiorentino, a historic town in Tuscany, Italy. This is your chance to gain international exposure, connect with a broader art community, and contribute to an important conversation about the nature of images in our time.
We’re looking for bold, thoughtful, and challenging work. If your photography explores the line between visibility and control, knowledge and illusion, freedom and force—submit your work now.
