We are pleased to announce the open call for submissions for this year’s photographic competition, themed “The Illusion of Knowledge: The Photographic Image Between Freedom and Control.” This theme asks participants to explore the dual role of photography in contemporary society—as a tool of power, a means of persuasion, and an act of resistance.

The competition is open to all photographers and visual artists aged 18 and above, from any part of the world. Submissions are accepted under two categories:

• Student Category: Open to current students or those who have completed a program of study (academic or artistic) within the past 12 months.

• Open Category: Open to all other eligible participants.

Prizes will be awarded as follows:

• €3,000 to the winner of the Open Category

• €500 to the winner of the Student Category

In addition to the cash prizes, the top five artists in each category (one winner and four finalists) will be invited to exhibit their work in a group show held in Castelfiorentino, Italy. This exhibition provides an exciting opportunity for artists to present their work to an international audience and be recognized for their creative engagement with the complex themes of power and visual culture.
