1. Inaugurated in 2008, the Prix pour la Photographie du musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac has emerged as a stalwart supporter of the burgeoning realm of contemporary photographic art. This unwavering commitment materializes through the annual backing of three artists, whose exceptional creations find a lasting home within the hallowed halls of the museum.

Distinguished by its emphasis on fostering global artistic diversity, the award is specially designed for non-European photographic artists. Additionally, it extends its eligibility to European citizens residing in overseas countries and territories, including those in the outermost regions. Each laureate selected for this prestigious honor is bestowed with a generous grant of 30,000 € (euros) net, specifically earmarked to facilitate the successful completion of their submitted projects.
