PhotoPlace Gallery - "Travel: People, Places, Things" Call for Exhibition

The act of traveling—whether across continents or within one's own neighborhood—offers a chance to engage with the unfamiliar, to reflect on diverse cultures, and to discover the small, often overlooked elements that make each place distinct. Travel challenges us to see the world through new eyes and to better understand both our surroundings and ourselves. With this in mind, we are excited to announce Travel: People, Places, Things, a juried photography exhibition that invites visual storytellers to submit compelling images that capture the essence of travel and exploration.

Photographers are encouraged to submit work that captures the varied dimensions of travel. We are looking for imagery that ranges from majestic natural landscapes and architectural marvels to personal portraits, vibrant street scenes, roadside curiosities, and meaningful cultural exchanges. Whether your photograph was taken thousands of miles away or just around the corner, we are interested in how it communicates the emotions, stories, and discoveries that travel can inspire.

We are pleased to have Laura Moya serve as juror for this exhibition. Laura will select 35 photographs to be showcased in our physical gallery in Middlebury, Vermont, along with 40 additional works for display in our Online Gallery. All selected photographs—75 in total—will be published in a professionally designed exhibition catalog, archived permanently on our website, and highlighted across our social media platforms, including direct links to each photographer’s website. This exhibition offers a platform to celebrate the profound impact of travel and to share those moments that move us, surprise us, and connect us across borders.
