PhotoPlace Gallery welcomes photographers to submit their finest landscape images for Quiet Landscape, a juried exhibition exploring the peaceful, contemplative, and often understated beauty found in landscapes around the world. The exhibition celebrates photography that invites quiet observation, encouraging viewers to engage more deeply with the relationship between nature, human presence, light, weather, and time.
Rather than focusing solely on dramatic or iconic locations, Quiet Landscape seeks photographs that reveal the subtle poetry of the landscape. From sweeping panoramic vistas to intimate natural details, untouched wilderness to cultivated fields, and tranquil urban environments to rural settings, the exhibition embraces a broad interpretation of landscape photography while emphasizing stillness, atmosphere, and thoughtful visual storytelling.
Photographers working in traditional, documentary, conceptual, and fine art photography are all encouraged to participate. Images may capture changing seasons, peaceful solitude, fleeting light, environmental narratives, or quiet everyday scenes that inspire reflection and invite audiences to rediscover familiar places through a fresh perspective.
The exhibition will be juried by respected photographer and educator Kat Kiernan, who will select approximately 35 photographs for exhibition at PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont, together with around 40 additional works that will be showcased in the gallery's Online Gallery.
Participation offers photographers significant opportunities for recognition. All selected works will be reproduced in the official exhibition catalog, permanently featured on the PhotoPlace Gallery website, and promoted through the gallery's publications and social media channels, providing long-term visibility and helping photographers connect with an international audience interested in contemporary landscape photography.
