Photographers are invited to participate in Quiet Landscape, an international juried exhibition presented by PhotoPlace Gallery, celebrating the timeless beauty and quiet presence of landscapes through photography. Rather than emphasizing spectacular scenery alone, the exhibition seeks thoughtful images that reveal the peaceful, reflective qualities of the places we inhabit and visit.
The organizers are looking for photographs that inspire contemplation and encourage viewers to slow down, notice subtle details, and appreciate the delicate connections between landscape, light, time, and human experience. Whether portraying vast wilderness, rolling countryside, quiet city streets, cultivated farmland, or intimate natural scenes, photographers are encouraged to present landscapes that communicate atmosphere, emotion, and personal perspective.
The exhibition welcomes submissions across a broad range of photographic styles and creative approaches. Artists may enter traditional landscape photography, documentary work, conceptual projects, or fine art interpretations. Images may explore themes such as solitude, seasonal transformation, environmental beauty, everyday places, silence, mood, and the often-overlooked moments that reveal the character of a landscape.
This edition of Quiet Landscape will be juried by acclaimed photographer and curator Kat Kiernan, who will select up to 35 photographs for the gallery exhibition in Middlebury, Vermont, as well as approximately 40 additional works for presentation in the gallery's Online Exhibition.
Selected photographers will benefit from extensive exposure. Every accepted photograph will appear in the official exhibition catalog, remain permanently featured on the PhotoPlace Gallery website, and receive promotion through the gallery's newsletters, publications, and social media channels, allowing participating artists to reach an international audience of photography professionals and enthusiasts.
