PhotoPlace Gallery invites photographers to step into the night and submit their work for After Dark, a juried exhibition celebrating images made in the quiet, mysterious hours between sunset and sunrise. This exhibition embraces the creative possibilities that emerge when darkness falls and familiar scenes are transformed by shadow, light, and time.
We are looking for a diverse range of work, from atmospheric night and astro-landscapes to dynamic urban and street photography, architectural studies, long exposures, and experimental techniques such as light painting and image manipulation. Whether capturing the shimmer of city lights, the depth of rural darkness, or the vast beauty of star-filled skies, this exhibition seeks images that reveal how the night reshapes perception and emotion.
Photographers of all styles and processes are encouraged to submit. We are particularly interested in compelling and imaginative images that convey the distinct mood and visual poetry of nighttime.
We are honored to have Lance Keimig as the juror for After Dark: Night, Sky, and Shadows. He will select up to 35 photographs for exhibition at PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont, along with an additional 40 images to be featured in the Online Gallery. All selected works—75 in total—will be included in a printed exhibition catalog, permanently showcased on the gallery’s website, and promoted عبر social media platforms, with links directing viewers to each photographer’s own website.
