Animalia: Our Shared World is an open call organized by PhotoPlace Gallery, inviting photographers to celebrate the richness of animal life through a diverse collection of photographic perspectives. The exhibition explores the extraordinary variety of creatures that inhabit our planet, from beloved pets and neighborhood wildlife to birds, insects, reptiles, amphibians, ocean-dwelling species, and animals living in remote natural environments. It aims to encourage a deeper appreciation of the connections between humans, animals, and the ecosystems we all depend on.

Artists are invited to submit photographs that communicate the beauty, individuality, behavior, and relationships of animals in all their forms. Whether through wildlife photography, portraits of domestic companions, observations of animal interactions, or images exploring the connections between living creatures and their surroundings, submissions should offer a distinctive interpretation of the animal world. The call is open to all photographic genres and creative processes, welcoming a wide range of artistic approaches and visual narratives.

Wendi Schneider will serve as the juror for this exhibition, selecting up to 35 works for the physical exhibition at PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont. Approximately 40 further photographs will be chosen for presentation in the Online Gallery. Every selected artist will benefit from inclusion in the exhibition book, permanent publication on the gallery's website, and promotional opportunities through the gallery's editorial publications and social media channels.
