Photometria International Photography Festival, renowned for spotlighting tomorrow’s image-makers, is expanding its commitment to youthful creativity. The festival is retiring the label “Photometria Student Awards” in favor of a fresh identity—“Youth Collective.”  This new incarnation breaks away from the student-only model and welcomes every aspiring photographer and visual storyteller aged 18–25, regardless of degree programs, training courses, or professional paths.

Why the transformation? Photometria recognizes that artistic potential flourishes in myriad contexts: in dorm rooms and darkrooms, on smartphones and in community centers, across bustling cities and remote villages. By opening eligibility, the festival hopes to uncover bold viewpoints, novel techniques, and unexpected collaborations that mirror the diversity of today’s global youth.

The competition timeline is set for 1 June 2025 through 30 June 2025.  Throughout that window, entrants are encouraged to challenge conventions—experiment with light, sequence images in new narrative arcs, merge still and moving frames, or harness AI-driven processes—so long as the final body of work offers a distinct, resonant voice. Through “Youth Collective,” Photometria aspires to cultivate a fertile ground where nascent talents can experiment fearlessly, gain international exposure, and contribute to the evolving conversation on what photography can be in the twenty-first century.
