With an eye toward its longstanding mission to nurture rising talent, the Photometria International Photography Festival is evolving the well-known “Photometria Student Awards.” From 2025 onward, the program will carry the broader, more inclusive title “Youth Collective.”  This reimagined competition removes the former requirement of formal photography studies and instead flings its doors wide open to all imaginative young people between 18 and 25 years old—whether they come from art schools, engineering labs, trades, or self-taught journeys.

By widening the eligibility criteria, Photometria hopes to amplify a richer chorus of visual voices and to spark audacious experimentation with the photographic medium. The festival envisions “Youth Collective” as a launchpad where first-time exhibitors can test ideas, share work with an international audience, and enter a supportive network of fellow image-makers and mentors.

Submissions will be accepted from 1 June through 30 June 2025. During that month, jurors will be looking specifically for bold perspectives, inventive techniques, and stories that capture the pulse of contemporary culture. Ultimately, the initiative reinforces Photometria’s belief that the future of photography flourishes when youthful curiosity meets unfettered opportunity.
