Conceived and intricately organized by the non-profit organization Eyes Wide Open, the cultural production entity affiliated with The Eyes label, in collaboration with the French Ministry of Culture and the SAIF, the Eyes Wide Open 1st Photo Book Grant program is expressly crafted for photographers harboring the ambition to present their inaugural book project with the endorsement of an independent French publisher.
The paramount goal of the Eyes Wide Open 1st Photo Book Grant program is to champion three initial book projects, providing financial support of up to €5000 each to the selected photographers and their editors. The program is discerningly divided into three categories, each tailored to address a unique set of criteria:
SAIF Grant: Tailored for French photographers or photographers residing in France.
Grant for a Woman Photographer: Open to photographers of any nationality who identify as women.
Grant for a Photographer from a Southern Territory: Encompassing territories such as Africa, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
These grants are bolstered by robust support from both the French Ministry of Culture and the SAIF, reinforcing the program's steadfast commitment to cultivating diverse voices and perspectives within the dynamic realm of photography.
