Issue #78 will present an exciting collection of photographic projects that investigate the dynamic relationship between reality and imagination through innovative, lens-based image making. This edition seeks artists who use photography not only to document the world around them but also to construct narratives, invent alternate realities, and challenge conventional ideas of truth, memory, and perception.
As part of our 2026 programming, we continue our exploration of contemporary photography through a series of thought-provoking themes that encourage artists to interpret contrasting concepts in deeply personal and visually engaging ways. For Issue #78, we invite submissions of fine art photography projects centered on the idea of the REAL versus the IMAGINARY. We are interested in documentary approaches that reveal authentic experiences, carefully staged or digitally enhanced narratives that create fictional worlds, and projects that intentionally blur the boundaries between fact and fiction.
Successful submissions will demonstrate originality, conceptual strength, and a distinctive artistic vision. Whether your work is inspired by personal memories, dreams, mythology, social commentary, or experimental storytelling, we encourage projects that use photography as a powerful medium for exploring the space where reality and imagination meet. Above all, we seek unique lens-based work that expands the possibilities of photographic storytelling and offers viewers a fresh way of seeing the world—or imagining one entirely new.
