photoED Magazine invites photographers and image-makers to submit work for potential publication both in print and online. We’re seeking original, intentional, and artistically-driven photography—work that goes beyond documentation to speak to the viewer with clarity, emotion, and purpose.

For this open call, we are exploring the theme of MOVEMENT. This word carries multitudes: it can suggest physical gesture, kinetic energy, or the passage of time. It can refer to collective social or political actions, personal transitions, or even unseen forces in the natural world. We’re looking for photography that captures the essence of change, the pulse of progress, or the simple grace of motion—however you choose to interpret it.

This is not a call for stock photography or commercial submissions. We’re looking for fine art images that push boundaries, raise questions, or offer new perspectives on the world around us. Your work should feel cohesive, deliberate, and connected to the theme in a meaningful way.

Submissions are reviewed anonymously by our volunteer editorial curators. As they review the entries, they will consider how each body of work presents a distinctive and insightful vision of “movement.” Surprise us. Move us. Show us something we haven’t seen before.
