On the Street is an exploration of the world as it really is — unposed, unfiltered, and alive with energy. From fleeting eye contact between passersby to unguarded moments of emotion, street photography reveals the pulse of life as it moves around us.

For this exhibition, we are seeking photographs that capture the soul of everyday experience — the humor, tension, grace, and connection that define human interaction. Whether taken in a busy urban neighborhood, at a local festival, or along a quiet rural road, your images should tell stories of people and place, of chance encounters and ordinary miracles.

We are interested in how you see — in the precise instant when gesture, light, and timing come together to form something unforgettable. How do you interpret the street when it refuses to stand still?

We are delighted to have Elizabeth Avedon as our juror for On the Street. She will curate up to 35 photographs for exhibition in our Middlebury, Vermont gallery and 40 additional works for our Online Gallery. Every selected photograph will appear in our exhibition catalog, remain archived on our website, and be featured on social media with links to each artist’s portfolio.

This exhibition honors the street as a living stage — where every frame is a fragment of a larger story, and every photographer is a storyteller in motion.
